Mayor David Wilson
Mayor David Wilson was born and raised in Summerdale and has dedicated his career to serving the town he calls home. After graduating from Foley High School and attending Faulkner State Community College and Southeastern Bible College, he built a successful masonry business and, in 1992, became the youngest mayor in Summerdale’s history. Throughout his tenure, Mayor Wilson has overseen significant improvements, including enhanced infrastructure, new facilities, and the development of the Town Municipal Complex. Under his leadership, Summerdale has maintained an AA- Stable financial rating and substantially expanded its budget.

In addition to his role as mayor, he has actively contributed to the community by serving on the boards of Summerdale Alumni, the South Baldwin Chamber, and the Baldwin County Economic Development Alliance, as well as serving as a school trustee and a member of the Summerdale School Educational Foundation Scholarship Committee. His leadership has been recognized with accolades such as the Central Baldwin Chamber of Commerce 2005 Man of the Year award, and in 2019 he was honored as an Honorary Eagle Scout for South Baldwin Boy Scouts. A devoted family man, he has been married to Faith since 1980, raising six children and welcoming 16 grandchildren. Beyond the mayor’s office, he’s also a private pilot and active in his local church. Above all, Mayor Wilson remains committed to preserving Summerdale’s close-knit character while guiding its continued success.
